The use of make up has been from ancient days or times until now. And women have always used it to enhance their looks and bring out their beauty.
Although in ancient Egypt, for example, the Egyptian women had their eyes lined heavily and wore heavy wigs. However, contemporary makeup in these present times have taken a different approach.
Make up when used appropriately, can and will create a desirable effect, enhancing a woman’s look and making her look more attractive.
Now, when I talk about using make up, I don’t mean using make up to the point that you’re not recognizable. I mean, to me, that’s absurd! As responsible single mothers, we should use makeup responsibly and not abuse it the way it’s been done today.
In fact, sometimes, just using a simple eyeliner and lipgloss, is all you need to just enhance your features. This could work for work days, and maybe on casual days at home, especially when you entertain casual guests.
But for formal occasions, you could apply more makeup elements like mascara, eyeshadow and lipstick. Foundation and powder should be applied first before your eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow and lipstick. Applying blush should be done sparingly and used more on formal occasions.
Although, in recent times, the make up trends have become so artificial that it is somewhat appalling in many cases, nevertheless, make up can still be artfully applied and make the one who is wearing it look more beautiful and responsible. Even for photo shoots for weddings or your profession and all that, your makeup use should always make a positive statement.
Basically, your makeup kit should consist of foundation or base, which could be oil based or water based. Then, powder which could be loose or caked. Eyeliners, eyeshadows, mascaras, lipsticks and lipglosses. Blush and makeup brushes complete the picture.
For your manicures and pedicures, use responsible colors of nail varnish for your fingernails and toenails, and always keep your nails well trimmed and clean.
Remember, as a single mum, you need to look good despite the pressures or challenges of single parenthood because opportunities to progress and advance are always flying around you.
You will be addressed the way you present yourself. If you will be taken seriously in your business approach or as an executive or entrepreneur, or better still in any field of endeavor for that matter, your makeup must make a very positive and responsible statement!
